How This All Works and General Camp Information
Our camp is located between West Branch and Tipton on a beautiful 80 acre farm overlooking the Cedar River Valley.
We transport campers in two vans to and from Iowa City. We leave Willow Creek Park (on the west side of Iowa City) at 8:30 AM. Next we make a pick up at City Park at 8:45. Our last pick up in Iowa City is at the Regina School parking lot (on the east side of Iowa City) at 9:00. We return to Regina at 4:00 PM, City Park at 4:15 and Willow Creek Park at 4:30.
Transportation can be arranged from West Branch.
Before & After Care is available on the west side of Iowa City from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM for an additional fee.
A confirmation packet will be sent shortly after we receive your registration. Campers should bring their lunch. Drinks, snacks, refrigerator and microwave are available. Our Federal ID number is 20-4381662 and our fees may qualify for child care credit for tax purposes.
Our camps fill up quickly so we encourage you to register early!

Camp Philosophy
We provide a friendly, supportive and cooperative atmosphere which fosters creativity and self expression. Campers develop a deeper understanding and appreciation for the heritage and tradition of arts and crafts in society. In addition, we are committed to making sure every camper leaves with a greater sense of of how the arts and crafts can enrich their own lives and with memories that will last a lifetime.

Teaching Methods:
Project-based, kid-friendly, hands-on and personalized instruction describe the teaching methods we use at all camps. The younger child will typically try out different skills giving them an overview of all the different activities. Older children are encouraged to learn new skills and master old ones. All skill levels will be accommodated and are welcome at our camps.

Inclusiveness:
We would like to put this disclaimer out to the world: Boys can enjoy, become skilled at and embrace the fiber arts. Spinning, weaving, knitting and other fiber arts hold great opportunity for both boys and girls to express their creativity, learn many useful skills and provide lifelong creative (and relaxing) experiences. Both boys and girls are welcome and are encouraged to attend all IFAA activities.

Supplies:
We understand that, along with using good teaching methods, the success of a project can be highly dependent on the using the approriate, high quality supplies and equipment. We strive to provide the highest quality, yet economical supplies and equipment available. One of our goals is to assist the beginning fiber artists in learning about the necessary supplies and equipment. Many items will be available for purchase so your child can continue their activities at home, using supplies they are comfortable with.

The Farm Experience:
Our camp is held on a beautiful piece of paradise in the gorgeous Cedar River Valley just outside Tipton. Diane is surrounded by a gaggle of fiber producing animals who provide many educational opportunities and countless humorous moments. The studio and outdoor work area on the farm provide a spacious and comfortable spot to learn and work. Undoubtedly, the farm is the perfect location for kids and fiber arts!

Fiber Arts Education as a Backdrop:
Throughout all of our camps we teach about the process natural fibers take from animal to fabric and discuss the history and usefulness of the fiber arts. Stories and instructional materials enhance the children's understanding along with their daily hands-on experience.

IFAA honors the needs of children to be in a safe, comfortable and nurturing environment. We reserve the right to ask any child who consistently disrupts any camp, class or workshop to be removed. No fees will be refunded in this case.

We strive to provide a positive experience for children with various needs whenever possible. However, we do not specialize in serving children with extreme special needs, including children with severe emotional, social or behavioral difficulties. We can provide a better experience for your child if you tell us about special programs your child may be receiving at school. We are happy to discuss, in a strictly confidential manner, any concerns you have about your child's experience at camp. We believe everyone is served better by carefully evaluating the appropriateness of our camp for your child.
