Explore! features the varied world of fiber arts at a level appropriate for 7-9 year olds. Campers experience the processes of dyeing and felting and spend a day weaving on a table top loom. New this year - we will create unique arts and crafts from different cultures. One day we will explore ideas for handmade gifts which kids will be proud to give away. At the Learn-A-New-Skill table campers can try braiding, knotting, knitting, carding wool, spinning, small loom weaving and more. Boys and girls love the creative projects we offer and are enriched by the techniques they learn.
The animals - angora goats, peacocks, mules, a llama, a barn cat, a super friendly dog named Clyde and a sheep named Molly (a.k.a. the "Queen of Corn Chips") - who loves to be petted - are a highlight for the campers. Add in games and outdoor play and this week is jam packed with creativity, learning and fun.
Kids can enjoy Explore! several years.
